WELS
The Water Efficiency Labelling and Standard (WELS) scheme is an Australian Government urbanwater conservation program. Its aim is to reduce demand for drinking water by informing consumers about water efficiency at the point of sale.
The WELS scheme sets the water efficiency for the following products sold in Australia:
Taps and showers Toilets and urinals Dishwashers and washing machines Flow controllers
These products must be registered for the Australian market and labelled with their water efficiency information when they are offered for sale.
WATERMARK
If a product is listed on the Schedule of Products and is to be installed in Australia, including those purchased via online stores like eBay and Amazon, the product must be:
WaterMark certified marked with the WaterMark trademark, WaterMark licence number and the applicable product specification listed on the WaterMark product database provided with a Scope of Use statement specifying its intended use.
Any associated product packaging and promotional material may also be marked with the WaterMark trade mark and licence number.
WaterMark product certification protects community health and safety.
A certified product is fit for purpose and authorised for installation by a licensed plumber. It’s also guaranteed to be suitable for use by you, your family and your friends.
